We are absolutely thrilled to share that our company has been awarded a 2019 Best in American Living Award for our 751 South Model Home located in the vibrant world of Durham, NC.
The city of Durham, commonly nicknamed Bull City, has experienced enormous economic growth in the past handful of years allowing the Triangle to witness the rebirth of a community rich with history, culture and grit.
We are honored to have our 751 South Model Home at 1318 Bradburn Drive stand proud in the up-and-coming 751 South new home community. 751 South is a new home development within the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area featuring single-family homes, retail and commercial spaces, community parks and green spaces and resort-styled amenity centers. As a breakthrough neighborhood thoughtfully designed to spearhead modernized suburbia, 751 South has purposefully placed homes that provide individual space while celebrating the walkability to life’s necessities from the front door. The excitement and convenience of an urbanized downtown can now be located in the comfort and safety of a neighborhood. You can read more about 751 South here and view available homes here.
The 751 South Model Home is the result of conceptual thinking that spearheads the cohesion of functionality and luxury within growing metropolitan areas. This home was designed with a message: quality craftsmanship that celebrates relevant sophistication AND purposeful livability is obtainable. The space was designed to spark an intuitive belief in attaining the best by simplistic practices.
Our desire for the 751 South Model Home was to design a space that would simply be pretty. Recently we have completed homes that are heavy in textures and moody in color tones. We wanted this home to be on the other end of the spectrum.
From the outside the home is an architectural treasure combining transitional materials and using a soft neutral color scheme. The wide front porch feels comfortably grand with an eclectic flagstone and tapered beams.
The interior of the home is bright, airy and seamlessly open. We used some of our most refreshing color pallets to compliment bold blues and vivacious greens. Shiny chrome and beautiful brassy gold finishes are layered throughout the space to create a chic boutique vibe.
We collaborated with Lauren McKay Interiors for the interior design and merchandising of the 751 South Model Home. McKay played a crucial role in the design process that allowed the home to have the cohesive pretty personality we anticipated. From the chic navy blue island to the elegant waterfall fireplace mantle, McKay created a romance between old and new.
The home is lavishly layered in assorted custom fabrics handpicked by McKay. A focal point is the tantalizing Kelly green curtains in the owner suite that truly make a statement. In our opinion, the formal dining room captures the essence of the home. A gorgeous antique-inspired wood table is flanked by vintage dining chairs that boast rattan and velvet materials all accompanied by stylish place settings, center pieces and art. Purposely placed throughout the home are décor items that allow the space to feel sophisticatedly lived-in with character.
We often say that you cannot put a price on natural light, and the amount of heavenly rays that flood the walls, counters and floors of this home would be high dollar no doubt. Oversized windows flank every room of the home to allow the space to purely exist with the land it occupies. An entire wall in the family room is a sliding glass door that opens to an expansive screened-in porch that seamlessly extends the living space. There is a sense that you are never enclosed by four walls, but rather within a glass castle of shifting light, color and fabric.
The 751 South Model Home by McNeill Burbank serves as a modernizing residential icon that preserves functionality as the primary principle while commemorating luxury as the underlying essence. Once again, we are honored to be awarded with a 2019 Best in American Living Award by the National Association of Home Builders. We share this accolade with KDK Design Group and Lauren McKay Interiors.
